:::
Bossa will have expansion components with the release of the new edition in 2023. At the same time, the rules will be revised and expanded. The release date is June for Kickstarter and Indiegogo backers, with general sales expected in the fall or later. Today, we would like to introduce you to the expansion components and the revised rules!
:::
:::
Thank you very much for your continued support of our crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for the new 2023 edition, as we have received in previous years.
As announced on Kickstarter, we are pleased to introduce the revised 2023 rules, two new expansion components, and optional expansion rules. (*June 27 note: The PDF and video links have been replaced with the latest version.)
:::
Bossa 2023 Revised Rules
In the 2023 revision, the "(former) Advanced Rules" were renamed "Regular Rules" and the "(former) Basic Rules" were renamed "Novice Rules". Based on the former rules, some minor changes (victory and tie conditions) and additions (clarification of handling of non-existent dot colors) have been made to the rules. In addition, an optional expansion rule has been added.
For more information on the rules, please see the PDF (link below) or the video (English).

Two New Expansion Components
Two new modifier chips have been added to Bossa: "Doubler" and "Inverter". Each modifier chip performs the function of modifying the number or the colors of dots on a particular single tile.
:::
:::
These modifiers were chosen from a number of ideas, which were thankfully test-played with the help of international players and local game geeks, and the feedback received from them was considered.
We are confident that it will provide more strategic and thought evoking fun for both frequent players and Bossa beginners.
:::
Doubler (left) and Inverter (right)
:::
Doubler: makes the number of dots on a particular single tile count double. (In the photo above, "White 2" is double counted to "White 4.")
Inverter: Inverts the colors of dots on a particular single tile. (In the photo above, the colors are inverted, and "White 5/Black 1" becomes "Black 5/White 1.")
:::
Optional Expansion Rules
Optional expansion rules are for "doubler" and "inverter" usage, and can be added to either the "Regular Rules" or the "Novice Rules".
Please see the PDF (Link above, included in the same file as the regular rules) for the details of the rules.
Instructional and gameplay videos are currently being edited. We will release them soon. Please wait a little longer.
